As a Project Manager and CEO, I have to be organised. If I discover something out there that can help or save time, I’m all over it! Add to that my love of apps (I have an app for just about everything), and I’m always on the look out for the latest app releases which improve the efficiency and productivity of myself and others.

While I haven’t found one magical app that does everything, I have found some game-changers that are revolutionizing the current app space – and they’re all 100% free to download!

If you’re not using them already, I highly suggest you check them out.

5. Pocket App

Pocket lets you save articles, videos and more in one place so you can read or watch later. How often are you interrupted while you’re in the middle of reading an article online or streaming a video? Pocket app users can revisit the content they have saved at anytime, on any device, and the best part is you don’t even need a wi-fi connection! Pocket is a super handy app both around the office and at home to store and organize stuff you like or haven’t got round to, all in one easy to access location.

4. Headspace

A clear mind is proven to be one of the greatest contributors to productivity. It’s easy to get caught up in the events of today’s busy lifestyle that we can find it tough to focus on the task at hand. Headspace offers a series of breathing and meditation techniques to keep your mind sharp and focused, while relieving stress. The instruction guides are as short as ten minutes long, so you can fit them around your schedule. Try out Headspace the next time you’re stressed or feeling overwhelmed.

3. Pure Binaural Beats

Binaural beats were discovered in 1839 by physicist Heinrich Wilhelm Dove. Basically, when we hear signals of two different frequencies with one in each ear, your brain tries to reconcile that difference, creating binaural beats and automatically triggering brain activity. It’s 100% safe, and science has learned how specific frequencies can induce certain emotions and feelings. The Pure Binaural Beats app is a fantastic app that can help you to relax, meditate, sleep, and focus. The app can also generate the sound of rain – if that’s what relaxes you, you’re covered! The app’s fluid and simple design makes it really easy to use – select a frequency, press play, and the app takes care of the rest. Headphones are highly recommended, and please don’t use it while driving or operating heavy machinery!

2. Clear

(free on Google Play, £3.99 on the App Store)

Bogged down by to-do lists, memos, post-it notes, writing on the back of your hand, emails to yourself… Sound familiar? Clear app is a great solution to keep this under control. The iOS version isn’t free, but this app really helps to organize your life, avoid forgotten appointments, and keeps you on the right track. Clear’s fluid and intuitive design gives users a simple and pleasant experience. After you use it, it’ll make you think how you managed without it.

1. 1Password

Do you have lots of long and complicated passwords to remember? Do you write them down somewhere? Ever forgotten a password and been through the hassle of recovering it? Sometimes it’s a real pain! Of course, security is hugely important more than ever these days, but I have so many passwords for so many different things – it’s hard to keep track of them all! It’s tempting to use the same password for every login, but hopefully we all know by now that is an absolute “No-No” for privacy. 1Password lets users save and manage all of their passwords in one secure location, with only having to remember one password.
